Don T. Phillips’ new book, A Biblical Chronology from Adam to Christ, records the history from the birth of Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden to the Crucifixion of Christ.

Georgia’s Historical Churches Catalogued in New Book

Don Joiner’s new book, Faith of Our Fathers, illustrates in vivid detail over one hundred of the oldest and most historic churches in Georgia.

The book focuses on churches constructed between 1769–1865. In addition to full color images of the churches, the author provides a brief history for each one. Every church included in the book was a witness to the Civil War in Georgia. Some were standing before the United States gained independence from Great Britain while others were there when the young nation was at war with Mexico.   Some of the churches continue to have active congregations, but others remain empty, standing as silent monuments to Georgia’s historical heritage. Many of the churches have had extensive renovations, while others have remained untouched by time. All of the churches provide readers with a glimpse into Georgia’s turbulent and historic past.

The author, Don Joiner, is a retired public school superintendent. He began his career as a history teacher. He also served as a school principal, director of elementary education, and assistant superintendent for instruction in Georgia several Georgia school systems. After retirement, he worked as a banker and established a successful real estate appraisal firm. Today, he teaches Sunday school at his church, and is currently writing a historical novel based on the apostolic era. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his four children and four grandchildren.

New Book Depicts One Man’s Encounter as an Illegal Immigrant

Author Joel Savage explores the struggles of being an illegal immigrant in Europe in his new book, Overseas Chronicle: The Rome and Amsterdam Experience.

In his third memoir, Savage documents his travels from Rome to Amsterdam. Surviving encounters with the Mafia and sleeping in abandoned factories in Italy, Savage decided to move camp to Amsterdam, hoping for a better life. Instead, he realized the hard immigration policies and liberal abuse of drugs and alcohol had taken a toll on the immigrants in Amsterdam and he wanted no part of it. Hoping to obtain documentation to rid him of his immigrant status, Savage ended up in many difficult situations, one of which included being arrested and put behind bars.

In this passionately written book, the reader gains insight into the pain and agony of being an outsider stuck in a foreign country when all one wants is to be a part of it. Joel Savage’s novel is a must-read for those hungry for a cultural experience.

Savage was born in Ghana before becoming a citizen of Sierra Leone. His father influenced him at an early age to pursue journalism, and since then he has written for numerous newspapers in Ghana and Belgium. He currently lives in Belgium with his wife and three children. He freelances for newspapers, magazines, and television and is a member of the Flemish Journalism Association in Belgium.
