ABOUT THE AUTHOR
H. William "Bill" Dettmer is a retired US Air Force officer and command pilot with 4,000 flight hours and 75 combat missions in Viet Nam. He has been an international business consultant to Fortune 500 companies. His clients include Bayer GmbH, Verizon, United Health Group, Raytheon Missile Systems, NEC America, Catalysts GmbH, Safeway Corporation, Osram GmbH, the US Air Force Software Technology Center, Seagate Technology, Western Digital Corporation, Siemens, and BHP Billiton Proprietary.
For eight years, he taught master's level courses in management, systems analysis, managerial economics, human factors in systems, organizational behavior and development, and decision analysis for the University of Southern California. He is the author of 11 books on management, problem solving, logical thinking, and strategy.
He lives in North Carolina.
