Posted on September 15, 2015 by April Elkins | 0 Comments

Caretaker Clayton Graves fights for his loved ones and community in Matt Shea’s new novel, The King of Coalman’s Hill. Clayton’s priorities consist of bringing food to the hungry, warmth to the cold and helpless, and caring for his beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth. Once tragedy strikes the legendary mountain man, his strength is tested as he struggles to ensure a bright future for Elizabeth and his dear friends in the mountain community.

The King of Coalman's Hill is a moving story filled with old-fashioned values, childhood nostalgia, and the challenges we all face in life. Focusing on the importance of love and family, the novel’s message resonates long after the final words are read.

The King of Coalman's Hill is the eighth book written by Matt Shea. He is greatly inspired by the writings of Andy Griffith and focuses on the common folk that comprise small towns. Matt credits the success of his first book, The Groundskeeper and Other Short Stories, to his family. The values that were instilled throughout his childhood gave him the strong sense of justice that is conveyed through his writings.

The King of Coalman's Hill is available in softcover (ISBN 978-1-62137-748-1) and eBook (ISBN 978-1-62137-749-8) from Virtualbookworm.com, Amazon.com, and Barnesandnoble.com. “From The Far Places” Explores Dramatic South Carolina History

Posted on September 15, 2015 by April Elkins | 0 Comments

South Carolina history and human drama combine in From the Far Places, the new novel by Dorothy K. Morris.

From the wilds of the Occaneechi Warriors' Path in the Carolina Piedmont, a lonely Monastery in far Northumbria, and a mansion in The Strand of London, a middle-aged man seeks his lost youth, a boy and girl help him find it, and a beautiful red stallion brings them all together. The combination of characters form a melting pot of cultures, class, languages, religions and personalities. In the historic South Carolina explored in this riveting novel, some of these differences blended while others created problems that could never be overcome.

From The Far Places is the seventh novel in the Mockingbird Series by Dorothy K. Morris. She was born in Charleston, South Carolina, a city her ancestors helped establish. She grew up struggling with the pain that still lingered from the residue of slavery and the Civil War. Morris enjoys genealogy due to her extensive family history and is a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who of American Women.

Happy 2015 and website changes

Posted on January 12, 2015 by Bobby Bernshausen | 0 Comments

Happy New Year! Sorry it's taken a while to post this, but it has taken almost two weeks to catch up on everything!

As you've noticed, we now have a new logo and an entirely new website! We incorporated our bookstore into the full website and integrated more tightly with Facebook and Twitter. If you visit our Facebook page (facebook.com/virtualbookworm) you'll also notice that you can now buy books directly from there by simply clicking the "bookstore" link in the upper navigation bar.

Authors, please check any links you may have used for your books. We tried to forward everything, but if your link wasn't directly to your book, it might not be working correctly. While we worked to announce this as much in advance as possible, some authors did miss it. So to keep up with the latest news, please keep checking our blog, our Facebook page ... and our Twitter feed (twitter.com/vbworm).
