Were you in high school during the seventies? Where did you go with your friends at night or on the weekends? Without computers, DVDs or wireless phones you probably spent a lot of time at the movies. You didn't learn about sex and profanity at home, you experienced it bigger than life at the single screen theaters and drive-ins in your hometown. Take a trip back to the days before cable, computers and gourmet coffeehouses.
"Now Playing at a Theater Near Me," a humorous and slightly cynical memoir, is a trivia packed chronicle of life and growing up during the late sixties and early seventies, a time when the motion picture industry struggled to keep up with the rapidly changing issues and morals of the time. Join author Tim McGlynn and friends as they crowded into the local grindhouse to see . . .
THE BANK ROBBERY GONE WRONG!
THE CAR CRASH AT THE DRIVE-IN!
THE CATHOLIC SCHOOL SCANDAL!
THE THANKSGIVING DINNER HORROR!
THE AUDIENCE TERRORIZED BY THE DEVIL!
THE HOMECOMING DANCE DISASTER!
THE "BOOK DAY" INCIDENT!
