In "A Lion in Shadow" we once again concentrate on the younger generation of Quigleys. In this case Roarke and Mary Clare's son Kerwyn. Kerwyn has always been the quiet Quigley, the boy who kept in the background. The fact that he was a reincarnation of his own great-uncle Angus, made him self-conscious and shy. However, like all the Quigleys, he has a driving need to help the helpless, to change the world. He decides on challenging the powerful syndicates that control the sex-trade in Thailand. He has two unlikely companions his former fellow seminarians from St. Philip Neri's. Knowing the three need some toughening up, they head for Australia and the Outback. Here, they run into unexpected obstacles that test their nerve but never shake their faith in each other. How they will fare in Thailand is related in the rest of the story.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
The author was born in Buffalo, New York. In 1970 she and her family moved to a haunted house in southern New York State. The house became the subject of her first book, Echoes of a Haunting. The experience precipitated a move west to California in 1975 where she worked for the City of Santa Clara until 1990. In December of that year she retired to the central Oregon coastal community of Florence with her mother, Ann. Their dog "Dear" Abby serves as their guardian angel. Regrettably, Miss Kitty died of kidney failure in May, 2008 at the advanced age of 18. She has a fill-in (but not a replacement) named Keely. This is a phonetic version of her true name: Caoileigh which means beautiful in Gaelic. The name is very accurate.
